Ruthy Johnson is a contemporary artist, creative entrepreneur, and founder of Art by Ruthy, based in the beautiful Twin Cities of Minneapolis–Saint Paul, Minnesota. With more than two decades of artistic exploration and six years of professional experience, Ruthy has transformed her lifelong passion for creativity into a growing art business rooted in inspiration, individuality, and the beauty of the natural world.

Holding a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on marketing and entrepreneurship, Ruthy brings a unique combination of artistic vision and business expertise to her work. Throughout her creative journey, she has continued to expand her skills through art courses, experimentation, and an ongoing curiosity for new techniques, materials, and styles.

Her artwork has been featured at Allina Health and Petite Salon, reflecting the versatility and appeal of her work in both professional and welcoming, lifestyle-inspired environments. These opportunities have allowed Ruthy to share her artistic vision with a broader audience, bringing original artwork into spaces where creativity, beauty, and personal connection can be experienced every day.

Specializing in contemporary mixed media, textured abstracts, landscapes, and seascapes on canvas, Ruthy creates original pieces that balance sophistication with a refreshing sense of tranquility. Her artistic inspiration is deeply connected to nature—from peaceful woodland walks and winding shorelines to the movement of water, the beauty of photography, and the gentle sounds of birdsong, rustling leaves, and lakeshore waves.

While much of her work embraces calming palettes, organic textures, and minimalist elegance, Ruthy also enjoys exploring bold colors, expressive compositions, and playful nostalgia. Her diverse collections celebrate both the peaceful simplicity of nature and the vibrant energy of creative self-expression.

Each original piece is thoughtfully created to evoke emotion, spark curiosity, and bring a meaningful sense of beauty into the spaces people call home. Whether through richly layered textures, serene coastal landscapes, or energetic contemporary abstracts, Ruthy's work is designed to be more than decoration—it is an opportunity to create an atmosphere, tell a story, and inspire connection.

Beyond the canvas, Ruthy is a professional in the Electric Utility industry, a devoted wife and proud mother of four children. Her husband serves their community as a career fire captain, and together they have built a life filled with family, creativity, adventure, and plenty of laughter. When she isn't in her studio, you'll likely find her making memories with her family, taking on a new DIY home project, or finding another way to bring creativity into everyday life.

Through Art by Ruthy, she continues to pursue a simple yet meaningful mission: to create original artwork that evokes serenity, inspires a sense of peace, and transforms everyday spaces into calming retreats filled with beauty, tranquility, and the quiet elegance of nature.
